Prevent Mold Problems Caused By Summer Humidity
Summer is my favorite time of year; the sun is out, people are happier, and you can eat ice cream in the middle of the day without being judged.
But there is a downside to the increased heat, and I’m not just talking about sun burns. When the weather warms, problems arise in houses. Summer heat causes humidity, which then causes mold to grow. (more…)

Signs That You May Have Mold Damage
Most Los Angeles homes do not have basements, but that does not entirely protect you from the dangers of mold, including home damage, sickness, respiratory difficulty, and skin rash.
Mold is caused by water collecting in walls, floors, or other areas, allowing the mold spores to flourish. Most are not harmful, but some produce mycotoxins that pose health risks, especially with regular exposure in the home. (more…)

After the Fire: Smoke Damage Cleaning
You watch as the final flames are extinguished, the smoldering, blackened shell of what you used to call “home” emits wisps of smoke (or is it steam?) into the night sky. You stand beside your wife, who is bending over to consul your crying 5-year-old daughter.
The neighbors have gathered to watch the tragedy unfold and, as the firemen begin to roll up their lengthy hoses, begin the slow walk to the comfort of their houses, leaving behind only whispers of condolence. A few, the ones your wife is close with, have asked if there is anything they can do; provide you with a place to stay, watch Sarah as you make arrangements, cook, give you clothes, offer you an attorney, and just about snything to help. But none of this will get your home repaired. (more…)
